A sense of Touch Therapy Treatments

At Finding Me – Living Well Despite Cancer we use Complementary Therapies in addition to standard cancer treatment and after treatment.

Touch is vital

This approach is called integrative medicine, and many people use complementary therapies to:

  • Reduce the side effects of cancer treatment
  • Improve physical and emotional well-being
  • Relax and cope with stress
  • Relieve pain, fatigue, anxiety, and depression
  • Improve recovery from cancer treatments and beyond

Types of complementary therapies include:

  • Aromatherapy touch therapy
  • Reflexology
  • Lymphatic Drainage Reflexology
  • Jennifer Young Sleep Ritual
  • Ziggie Bergman Facial Reflexology and ZFL
  • Reiki
  • Gentle Indian Head Massage
  • Make up classes

Talk with your health care team before adding any therapies to your standard treatment. They can help you safely combine the therapies that are right for you.

Debbie Gribben has trained with the registered charity Amethyst Trust who has developed a new approach to treating clients living with cancer, through the creation of a specialist-training course. Endorsed by Penny Brohn UK, as well as specialised training with Jennifer Young (beauty despite cancer)

Debbie has also trained at Mount Vernon Hospital, and is on their accredited therapist list. Trained with Keith Hunt MBE from the complementary therapy services at the Royal Free Hospital, and also volunteered at the MacMillan Suite within Lister Hospital and The Garden House Hospice, Letchworth.

“It is a wonderful experience to be able to make a small difference to how a person is feeling; touch is vital for people before cancer treatments, during cancer treatments and beyond, for their health and well-being and touch therapy is a proven way to receive these benefits.”
